Spring Into Action: Refresh Your Marketing Strategy

Spring is here – the perfect time to spring clean and refresh your marketing! So, grab a cuppa, sit down, and take a fresh look at what’s been working over the last few months – and just as importantly, what hasn’t.

1. Social Media: Are You Getting the Right Results?

My take on social media is that it isn’t about getting client bookings – it’s about building brand awareness. That’s why the aim of all my posts is to let people know more about me and the services I offer, so when they need a holistic therapist, they think of me.

To check if your social media is working, take a look at your Instagram professional dashboard or Facebook Business Manager and ask yourself:

  • Is my content reaching beyond my followers? Growing brand awareness means reaching new people, not just your existing audience.
  • What kind of engagement am I getting? Look at new followers, profile visits, saves, and comments – likes on their own mean very little.
  • Which posts performed well? Identify what worked and do more of it!
  • What didn’t work? Learn from the posts that didn’t get the response you wanted.

2. Website: When Was Your Last Update?

Be honest – when was the last time you:

  • Checked your website?
  • Added new content?
  • Updated your contact details, prices, or opening hours?

Google regularly scans your website, and it ranks sites that are accurate and up to date higher in search results, so if it’s been more than two months then it’s time for a refresh!

Ask yourself:

  • Are my contact details consistent everywhere? Website, social media, directories, etc.
  • Does my site have all the info a visitor needs? Location, services, pricing, and hours
  • Has anything changed since Google last scanned it? Fresh content signals your site is active and relevant.

Quick Fixes:

If the idea of adding fresh content to you website on a regular basis feels daunting then remember all you need is a tiny change, for example:

  • Add a short blog post (even 200 words will do!)
  • Post a new testimonial
  • Share a seasonal or inspiring quote

3. Google Business Profile: Is It Helping You?

Your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is just as important as your website. Check it using the same criteria as above.

Bonus Tip: Haven’t asked for reviews in a while? Now’s a great time to reach out to clients clients and request one. If you don’t ask you definitely won’t get!

4. Printed Materials: Are They Still Relevant?

Flyers, brochures, and business cards are valuable tools, but only if they’re current and fit for purpose. Take a quick audit:

  • Do they reflect your branding and services?
  • Are they in the right places to reach potential clients?
  • Is it fit for purpose? A flyer for a mail drop may need different details than one in the reception area of where you work.

5. The Bigger Picture: Is Your Marketing Mix Working?

Marketing isn’t just about social media, websites, and flyers – it’s about how your business presents itself as a whole.

Take a quick check of these key areas:

  • Price: Are your rates competitive, or are you undercharging compared with other therapists in your area?
  • Place: Can clients easily find you online and in person? Have you answered FAQs about parking, directions, etc.?
  • Products/Services: Are you offering what your ideal clients need – and are they aware of it?
  • Processes: Is booking with you simple and seamless? Have you thought about an online booking system to make booking with you quicker and easier?
  • Physical Evidence: Are you building credibility? Testimonials, social proofing, and even the atmosphere of your treatment room all matter.

Time to Take Action!

  1. Review your social media data and adjust your strategy accordingly.
  2. Update your website.
  3. Make sure your profile is accurate and up to date.
  4. Recycle outdated materials and refresh anything that needs an update.
  5. Assess and refine your marketing mix as a whole.

Block out some time this March to focus on your marketing – don’t just squeeze it in between client sessions! And remember, small, consistent tweaks can make a big difference over time; you haven’t got to do it all at once.

Which area will you start with? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great month, Sarah x
